Becoming a member of christ reformed baptist fellowship

Every Believer should be an active part of a local church.

The local church provides the Believer an opportunity:

for genuine worship with other Christians

to partake of the Ordinary Means of Grace  given by Christ

to exercise their spiritual gifts meant for other Christians

to grow in their Faith

to fulfill God's call to be good stewards of time, talent, treasure, and truth

to learn how to apply their Faith to daily life

to build up fellow Believers

to be encouraged

to form genuine relationships

to be accountable to Christ through God-given leadership

We believe that church membership is both a privilege and a responsibility.

The process to becoming a member is:

  • Contact a member of the church leadership about your desire to become a member of the church.
  • Attend the pre-membership classes.  See below.
  • Affirm the church covenant

You will then be presented as new members during a worship service and joyfully welcomed into the membership of Christ Reformed Baptist Fellowship.

One of the elders will lead you and others through the membership class and booklet.  If you are unable to physically attend a session, the membership class videos and membership booklet can be found here:

church covenant

Having been born again by the Spirit of God and drawn to faith and repentance in the Lord Jesus Christ, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, and this assembly, joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

By the grace of God given to us by the Holy Spirit and with His aid, we will seek and strive to:

  • Glorify God in all that we do, knowing that it is by the grace of God alone that our sins have been forgiven, that we have been declared righteous by God due to the work of Christ, and we have been raised to new life in Christ.
  • Live our lives according to the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, having submitted ourselves to the authority of the Word of God.
  • Understand and embrace this church’s Statement of Faith as a trustworthy summary of biblical teaching.
  • Advance this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality and to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to be faithful in attendance, and to pray for and submit to its leaders as they are faithful to Christ.
  • Contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of its ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
  • Exemplify a true Christian community, caring for one another, bearing one another’s burdens, admonishing one another, watching over one another in brotherly love; and we will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
  • Share the Gospel with our family, acquaintances and strangers who have not repented to saving faith in Christ; to be in prayer for the spiritual awakening of the lost in our community, and to be a faithful witness of the gospel both here and to all the world.

We will, upon moving from this place, unite, with a church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. - Amen
